Kathmandu : With a sole purpose of discussing the crucial trade union issues at the current scenario, All Nepal Security Workers’ Union organized a program on 17 January in Kathmandu in in the presence of Provincial Assembly Member as well as ANTUF President, Jagat Simkhada, the Vice-President, Jaya Karki, SB. Thapa and other senior leaders from different federations.
Addressing the congregation of available key central committee members in Kathmandu and presidents of the main committee of All Nepal Security Union, the Acting President, Cde. Jagat Simkhada, strongly stressed on the need of intensifying TU movement at the speed of a political movement like “Pilli Action”.
Criticising the growing deviation and infiltration of some of the trade union leaders, he stressed on the need of speeding up TU movement against all the anti-labour activities exercised at the current scenario. Mr. Simkhada reiterated those who work at the interest of employers and forge alliance to weaken TU movement can never be the true trade union leaders. These sorts of anti-labour tendency exercised under the banner of union by some handful so called trade union leaders will be strongly objected. He further said, we will not be able to preserve the achievements our past union movement, unless we stay vigilant and take initiation to implement the Social Security Scheme and existing laws in all aspects.
Similarly, the Vice President, SB Thapa briefed about the anti-national & destructive provision mentioned in the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and stressed on the need of taking this issue to all the workers across the nation for intensive discussion. Cde. Thapa also expressed on the need of raising trade union voice against increasing boarder encroachment incidents by India.
The program was organized in kind presence of senior leaders from different federations such as ANTUF Treasurer, Ghanashyam Thakuri, the President of Province-3, Pitambar Giri, Vice-President, Hom Khadka, the Vice-President, Khagendra Dhimak, General Secretary, Man Bahadur Thing, Bagmati Province In-Charge, Tika Thapa.
Finally, the program was concluded with vote of thanks by the President of Security Union, Mr. Laxmi Prasad Dhakal.
